Growly Delivers announces Buy Me A Growler initiative to support local nonprofits on Black Friday

Tempe, AZ – Growly Delivers is committed to delivering sustainability along with delicious beverages. This commitment is reaffirmed in their new initiative called Buy Me A Growler. New and existing customers can select which organization they want to support, and a portion of their current order and future orders will be donated to that organization; 20% of customers’ subscription fee and 6% of their beverage order will be donated.

Growly Delivers has partnered with local organizations that support the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals or support the local craft beer economy.

NourishPHX, Phoenix Girls Pint Out, and Tap That AZ Podcast has partnered with Growly for the launch of Buy Me A Growler:

  1. NourishPHX: NourishPHX serves vulnerable individuals and families by offering resources to satisfy immediate needs and to provide pathways to self-sufficiency. They offer resources for food, clothing, hygiene, diapers, job assistance, SNAP (food stamp) & AHCCCS assistance.
  2. Phoenix Girls Pint Out: Girls Pint Out is a national craft beer organization for women. Their mission is to build a community of women who love craft beer and who are an active, contributing part of the greater craft beer community. Through social media, blog posts, and local events hosted by chapters, Girls Pint Out offers a forum for discussion, education, and fun.
  3. Tap That AZ: Tap That AZ is a podcast about the best local spots to find great Arizona-made beer. Weekly episodes include on-location interviews with the folks who make it all happen, news from the Arizona beer scene, as well as some great Arizona beer reviews.

“Arizona faces many serious challenges: inequality, urban sprawl, water, and many more. We were already carbon negative, zero waste, and supporting small local businesses – but we didn’t want to sit on the sidelines watching these issues get worse,” says Growly Delivers CEO Daniel Velez. “We are a local company, and we want to support our local community because, at the end of the day, this is where we live. If Growly can't tackle these issues directly, we could at least be assisting the organizations that are."

Since its inception, Growly Delivers has been a sustainability-driven service that fosters local craft beverage artisans, operates by circularity principles, enables sustainable consumption, and contributes to climate change mitigation. The eco-conscious company received the 2020 ADEQ Award for Environmental Stewardship and, in 2019, received a grant from the Arizona Recycling Coalition.

So far, Growly Delivers has averted 7500 single-use aluminum cans from ever being used and purchased carbon credits to offset twice as much carbon the company emits on its delivery routes. Growly only works with local beverage artisans instead of large-scale mass production, and by doing so, it reduces their customers' environmental footprint and supports a more robust local economy.

Growly will continue to support the environmental, social, and economic sustainability of Arizona through its carbon-negative and zero waste delivery service, as well as by pursuing its sustainability goals through initiatives like Buy Me A Growler. The Buy Me A Growler initiative was made possible by interns from GreenLight Solutions, a local nonprofit connecting sustainability students to projects in Metro Phoenix and beyond.
