Cortez started with a dream of being a more equitable and transparent coffee company, unlike the industry that often times is more fluff than substance. Our founder, Ron Cortez, immigrated from his native Costa Rica and founded Cortez Coffee with ideals of paying more for the coffee so farmers can benefit and uplift themselves out of generational poverty. As coffee pickers, Ron and his father understand coffee from the bean to the cup. With 30 years of roasting experience, we are proud to see our business grow from a humble start in Arizona in 1993 to become a global coffee company with many partners.
